Ferman Akgül receives Honorary Award from Yeditepe University
Ferman Akgül received an Honorary Award from Yeditepe University for his commitment to social responsibility and his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Award was handed to Ferman by the Make-A-Wish Foundation's General Manager Mrs Zeynep Ürkün.
Ferman Akgül has been an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2010 when he and fellow maNga group members visited a Make-A-Wish child in the Netherlands.
Ferman Akgül: "We visited Esin, who was very sick and had refused treatment after spending a long time in hospital. We talked to her and asked her to stay positive and give the treatment a chance. She agreed to trying the treatment and saw a significant improvement in her health. It was a life changing experience for me and I have the deepest respect and passion for the work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation."
Ferman gave a short speech reminding the audience of the importance of voluntary work and underlined that the work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is not to grant last wishes for sick children but to be a part of making their day a bit brighter and giving them motivation and hope. After accepting the Award Ferman sang maNga's legendary hit song "Cevapsiz Sorular" together with Make-a-Wish child Baris.
